Sawan Somwar Vrat 2026: The holy month of Sawan, also known as Shravan, is beginning from 30th July, 2026, in North India. During this month, devotees observe fasts, especially the Sawan Somwar Vrat, to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. They also visit Lord Shiva temples and perform rituals to pray for good health, peace and prosperity for their families.
Observing a fast during this month is considered highly auspicious. It is not only a religious practice, but also helps detoxify the body, improve self-discipline and support spiritual growth.
However, many people get confused about do’s and don’ts while observing the vrat. Let's discuss the Sawan fasting rules, including what to eat and what to avoid during Shravan Vrat.
