Team India will look to build on a promising start when competition resumes on Day 2 of the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow on July 24. After opening their campaign with positive results on Thursday, Indian athletes will be in action across gymnastics, swimming, para swimming, para powerlifting, lawn bowls and boxing, with several medal opportunities on offer.

India's campaign got off to an encouraging start on Day 1. Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain assured the country's first medal after receiving a bye into the women's 75kg boxing semifinals.

On the other hand, the lawn bowls duo of Pinki Singh and Rupa Rani Tirkey produced a thrilling tie-break victory over Malta in the women's pairs event. The Indian contingent also marched proudly during the opening ceremony, led by flag bearers Mirabai Chanu and Lovlina Borgohain.

Day 2 promises to be even busier, with India competing in multiple disciplines throughout the day. The biggest medal hopes will come in para powerlifting, where four finals are scheduled, while the men's gymnastics team will begin its campaign with qualification and chase a place in the team medal event later in the evening.

Indian swimmers and para swimmers will also aim to progress into the knockout rounds before the medal races, while lawn bowls and boxing continue their preliminary campaigns.
