Pakistan's star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem finally reacted to the buffalo being gifted by his father-in-law after clinching the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. It should be noted here that Nadeem received a buffalo from his father-in-law after he had won the gold medal in the men's javelin final.

Talking about the incident, he had a hilarious take and said that his father-in-law should have given him a piece of land instead of the buffalo. He admitted that he was a bit surprised by the choice of the gift his father-in-law gave him as he is quite rich.

"She was the one who told me and I said buffalo? He could have given me five acres of land. But then I said fine, he gave me a buffalo, that is also nice," Nadeem was quoted as saying on ARY News.

At the same time, ever since he won the gold medal, he has been given lots of gifts. Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab province gave him a brand new Honda Civic with a special registration number- 92.97.

Nadeem was bestowed with several gifts

She also gave a cheque of PKR 100 million for his historic achievement. He has also been awarded the country's second highest civilian award Hilal-i-Imtiaz. Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave him a prize money of PKR 150 million.

Nadeem scripted history by winning the country's first-ever gold medal in an individual event at the Olympics. He left everyone by throwing at a distance of 92.97m and thus won the gold medal. He also went past Andreas Thorkildsen’s Olympic record of 90.57m.

He created another record in his last attempt, where he threw at a distance of 91.79m. At the same time, India's Neeraj Chopra couldn't defend his gold medal and had to settle for the silver medal by throwing at a distance of 89.45m. He registered five fouls in the summit clash and could only attempt one proper throw but that was enough to help him win the silver medal.
