Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that Jack Grealish is all set to miss their clash against Manchester United on Sunday, March 3.

City will be hosting United at the Etihad Stadium for the second Manchester derby of this Premier League season.

They will be without Grealish recently suffered an injury in their FA Cup fifth-round clash against Luton Town this mid-week.

While Grealish was taken off in the 38th minute, City were clinical enough to thrash Luton Town 6-2 to advance to the next round.

While addressing the press conference ahead of the marquee clash, Guardiola confirmed that Grealish has suffered a hamstring injury.

“Jack Grealish will not be fit for this weekend. He’s out. When he will come back, I don't know."

Notably, England are scheduled to play a few matches in March during the International break but Guardiola hinted that the winger remains doubtful for that as well.

“No. I need to speak with [England boss] Gareth [Southgate], I think he will not be fit.“He has to recover well. He has had a setback, he has to recover well so we can use him as much as possible.”

Grealish looked in massive disappointment after getting substituted with an injury as he recently came out of an injury break.

“Yes, he doesn’t have an alternative. Setbacks in life are always there, it’s how you overcome them,” Guardiola said.

After a comprehensive outing in Manchester City's treble-winning last season, Grealish played his part with a few crucial goals and assists.

However, he has struggled for form as well so far this season, managing to score just three goals and provide two assists in 27 matches for the Blues across competitions.

City are in a tight race for the title with Liverpool who are just one point clear at the top with 60 points.

The past few days have been hectic for City in terms of scheduling of matches as they faced Bournemouth in the previous league fixture before facing Luton Town away three days later.

While they now will be facing the neighbors and old rivals Manchester United with a four-day gap, Guardiola came up with a response on whether the players are feeling tired.

“Tuesday to Sunday is enough - it’s a dream. We recovered well.

“The problem is Saturday to Tuesday with trips, there is less recovery time. The players were extraordinary against Luton. Two days off, rest, don’t see each other then two days to prepare for the game against United.”
