Pune Grand Tour 2026: Asian Championship silver medallist Harshveer Singh Sekhon will be spearheading a 12-member Indian cycling team, which is all set to start from Monday. Around 12 Indian riders will be riding the Nion Cycliste Internationale cycling road for the first time.

The five-day Pune Grand Tour will also have UCI ranking points, and that will be seen as the qualification for the LA 2028 Olympics.

Around 164 star riders of 28 teams, playing for 35 countries, will be seen in action at the first Pune Grand Tour, which will go from the Deccan Plateau, the Sahyadri Range, and the streets of Pune.

The Indian contingent has been put into two groups, where six riders will be in the national and developmental teams.

Pune Grand Tour 2026: Indian cycling teams

Indian national team: Naveen John, Sahil Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Harshveer Singh Sekhon, Vishwajeet Singh, Surya Thathu

Indian developmental team: Sachin Desai, Niraj Kumar, Vivaan Sapru, Manav Sarda, Chirag Sehgal, Akshar Tyagi

The race will start with a 7.5km prologue from Goodluck Chowk on Monday, and then the four-stage test will move from Pune to the Western Ghats, where the event will be sprinting, climbing, and tactical depth.

The stage will have 87.2km Mulsi-Maval Miles, which will begin from January 20 and will go through Pune’s IT hub in Hinjewadi.

The stage will begin on 21st January, where the 105.3km Maratha Heritage Circuit will have stiff ghat climbs at Purandar Fort, Sinhagad, and Khadakwasla Lake.

The race will then go towards 134km Western Ghats Gateway on 22nd Jan, which goes from Purandar to Baramati across the Deccan Plateau.

The Pune Grand Tour will end at the 95km Pune Pride Loop, which will surpass landmarks like Shaniwar Wada.
