IND vs NZ 3rd ODI: India's star batter Virat Kohli had gifted his signed jersey to New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell just a few minutes after his brilliant efforts went to vain as the host lost the third ODI by 41 runs and also the three-match series by 2-1. Mitchell maintained his sublime form against the Men in Blue as he had smashed two tons in this series, scoring 137 runs off 131 balls and helping the visitors post a mammoth target of 337 runs.

While chasing, India’s star batter Virat Kohli smashed his 54th ODI century as he scored 124 runs off 108 balls. And since he got no assistance from the other batters, the Shubman Gill-led side lost the match by 41 runs.

In the post-match presentation, Kohli went past the New Zealand camp and gave Mitchell a signed jersey and also shared a warm hug.

New Zealand didn't just win the series by 2-1 but also scripted history. The host had never lost an ODI series to New Zealand in their backyard.

This was a tough pill to swallow for the host despite their best batter performing brilliantly on a tricky pitch.
