Amazon’s Great Republic Day Sale 2026 is now live, and if you’ve been waiting for the first big sale of the year, this is it. The event is being held around Republic Day, and unlike some earlier sales, Amazon has opened it up for both Prime and non-Prime users at the same time.
The discounts aren’t limited to just one category either. Smartphones, tablets, speakers, earphones, smart TVs, home appliances — pretty much everything tech-related is seeing some level of price cut. But for many buyers, laptops under Rs 40,000 are the real point of interest, especially for students and office users.
Amazon is also stacking a few extra offers on top of the regular discounts. SBI credit card users can get additional savings during checkout. Non-Prime members are eligible for up to 10 percent off, while Prime subscribers can get up to 12.5 percent. There are also one-time discounts if your cart value crosses a certain amount, though card-based offers can only be used a limited number of times.
Now, coming to laptops in this price range, expectations need to stay realistic. Under Rs 40,000, you’re mostly looking at machines powered by Intel Core i3 or AMD Ryzen 3 processors. Displays are standard LCD panels, usually non-touch, and storage typically tops out at 512GB. These aren’t built for heavy creative work, but they handle online classes, office tasks, browsing, and everyday usage without trouble.
Brands like HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus and Acer are all active in this segment during the sale, and several models are seeing noticeable price drops. Lenovo’s V15 G4, for example, is listed at Rs 38,999 during the sale. HP’s 15 series laptop is available for Rs 37,990, while Acer’s Aspire Lite is priced at Rs 35,990.
Asus also has one of the cheapest options with the Vivobook Go 14 at Rs 30,990. Dell’s 15-inch laptop comes in at Rs 39,990, and Lenovo’s IdeaPad Slim 3 is available for Rs 38,490.
If you’ve been putting off buying a basic laptop and don’t want to stretch your budget, this sale gives you enough options to actually sit down and compare.
