The firm confirmed on Wednesday that the CEO Deepinder Goyal, will resign from his role with effect from February 1, 2026. The current CEO of Blinkit, Albinder Dhindsa, will take over as the new chief executive.

Goyal explained his choice thoroughly to shareholders, saying it's tied to his increasing interest in higher-risk, experimental ideas that he feels would be better developed outside the framework of a publicly traded company. In his letter to shareholders, Goyal said he has recently been drawn toward ideas involving:

- Higher levels of risk

- Exploration and experimentation

- Long-term innovation outside a public company environment

Deepinder Goyal explained that such ideas are better pursued outside Eternal, which must remain focused and disciplined in its core business strategy. He also added that if the ideas fit within the Eternal’s strategic scope, he would have pursued them within the company.

Government Push Against 10-Minute Delivery Claims

The Government’s move to strike down “10-minute delivery” branding was also welcomed by the AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha. He called it a victory for the gig workers’ safety and dignity. He also added that such 10-minute delivery promises increase mental stress and force delivery persons to drive dangerously.

Even the Labour Minister Mandaviya directed Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy, and Zomato to remove the rigid deadlines from promotions and their platforms, stressing that safety must always come before speed.
