The time is coming closer for the launch of Google's latest flagship launch which is supposed to take place on August 12. The company officially confirmed that the Pixel 11 will soon be making its way to the shelves last week. For now, there's a teaser that the tech giant has released on the company's online store homepage. The teaser also showcases an interesting feature, which is now confirmed: the Pixel Glow. This feature is basically an LED in a circular form that shows a full array of Google's signature colours, and it is believed that it will be used as a notification beacon. Things will get clear on August 12.
Google has already revealed one important detail ahead of its August 12 event. The Pixel 11 lineup will be available for pre-order as soon as it is announced. If rumours are anything to go by, the company will take the wraps off four phones this year, including the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
Pixel 11 series colours and design
Leaks over the past few days have painted a clearer picture of what to expect. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has been spotted in Pine, a subtle green shade, and Midnight. The Pixel 11 Pro, meanwhile, is expected to arrive in Dune, Light Fog, Pine and Sterling colour options.
Google does not appear to be changing much when it comes to the design of its regular Pixel phones. The signature horizontal camera bar is likely to stay, making the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro look instantly recognisable.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is where things get a little more interesting. Leaked renders suggest Google has tweaked the camera island instead of giving the phone a complete makeover. The module looks slimmer, with the camera cutouts stretching closer to the edges. The main and ultrawide cameras are now positioned at the bottom, while the telephoto lens remains in the top right corner. The autofocus sensor is also said to have been moved, and the LED flash appears noticeably bigger than the one on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
What else is expected?
The design may not surprise many people, but the hardware could. According to reports, Google is sticking with the same display sizes as last year's models. That means a 6.3 inch OLED display on the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, a larger 6.8 inch panel on the Pixel 11 Pro XL, and a foldable setup with a 6.4 inch outer display and an 8.0 inch inner screen on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
The biggest talking point is expected to be the new Tensor G6 processor. Reports claim Google will switch to TSMC's 2nm manufacturing process for the chip, a step up from the 3nm Tensor G5. The new 7-core chipset is expected to deliver better performance while also improving power efficiency.
Another reported change is the modem. Google could finally move away from Samsung's modem and use MediaTek's new M90 modem across the Pixel 11 lineup. If the leaks are accurate, all four phones will also launch with Android 17 pre-installed.
