Huawei, the Chinese tech brand, has just dropped the Mate 80 Pro in global markets at its event dubbed "Now is Your Run" in Madrid on Thursday. Although the global version is a bit different from the ones that were launched in China, which in fact is EMUI 15.0 and not HarmonyOS 6.0. For cameras the device sports a 50 MP triple rear camera setup, and for battery it has a 5,750 mAh cell with 100 W charging support. With that, the company has also dropped an array of products as well, like the Watch GT Runner 2, Watch Ultimate 2, MatePad Mini, FreeBuds Pro 5, and Band 11 Series.

The price for the Mate 80 Pro is still under wraps, and the device will go on sale in select markets only, and its availability will vary as per the region. This model comes in one RAM and storage variant only, which is 16GB+512GB, and for colourways, the device will come in black, green and gold.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro Specs and Features

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro doesn’t hold back when it comes to display. It features a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED panel with a sharp 2832 × 1280 resolution and 460ppi pixel density. You get an adaptive refresh rate that goes up to 120Hz, 1440Hz PWM dimming for better eye comfort, support for 1.07 billion colours, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. In short, it’s built to look vibrant and smooth in almost any lighting condition.

Huawei hasn’t revealed the chipset powering the global version yet. However, the Chinese model runs on the Kirin 9030 Pro SoC. The phone comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Software-wise, global users get EMUI 15.0, while the China variant runs HarmonyOS 6.0.

On the camera front, the Mate 80 Pro packs a 50-megapixel main sensor with a variable aperture that shifts between f/1.4 and f/4.0, along with optical image stabilisation. There’s also a 40-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 48-megapixel macro telephoto lens offering 4x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. For selfies, you get a 13-megapixel wide-angle front camera with autofocus. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording.

Backing everything is a 5,750mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Depending on the market, the phone is available in single or dual-SIM options. It’s rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance as well.

For connectivity, you get Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB Type-C with USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds, NFC, dual-band GPS, and even NavIC support. The device measures 161.85 × 76 × 7.95mm and weighs around 219 grams.
