JioTV Recharge Plan On Mobile: Reliance Jio has dropped a new budget recharge plan in its portfolio, but this one is a bit different and isn't meant for extra data or unlimited calling. Instead, it is aimed at users who would like to enjoy watching live TV on their phones.

Priced at just Rs. 55, the new JioTV Pro Pack gives Jio subscribers access to more than 1,000 live TV channels through the JioTV app for 30 days. However, there are a few things users should know before recharging.

A Recharge Meant Purely for Entertainment

The biggest difference between the Rs. 55 JioTV Pro Pack and Jio's regular plans is that this recharge is only for TV streaming. It does not include voice calling, SMS or mobile data.

Instead, subscribers get access to a wide range of live TV channels through the JioTV app, making it a low cost option for those who already have an active Jio connection and simply want to watch television on their smartphone.

Jio says the pack includes more than 1,000 channels in over 16 languages, covering entertainment, movies, news, kids and lifestyle content.

More Than 150 Premium Channels Included

Apart from regular TV channels, the recharge also unlocks over 150 premium channels.

According to Jio, users will be able to watch channels such as StarPlus HD, Colors HD, Sony Entertainment Television HD, Discovery and Animal Planet. The pack also includes channels from broadcasters including JioStar, Sony Entertainment, Sun TV Network, Warner Bros. Discovery and ETV.

That said, sports lovers may find one omission disappointing.

Live Sports Are Not Part of the Plan

Although JioStar and Sony channels are included, their live sports channels are not available with the Rs. 55 recharge. Hence, this pack cannot be used to stream live cricket matches or any other sport by itself.

In case of live sports, you would require a different kind of pack.

Activation of the Rs. 55 JioTV Pro Pack

There’s nothing much you have to do for activation of this pack. You just need to log into the JioTV app with your Jio mobile number. The premium channels will become available automatically.

The plan works for both prepaid and postpaid Jio users and can be purchased through Jio's online as well as offline recharge channels.

Another useful feature is that the recharge supports advance renewals. If you buy the pack again before your current subscription expires, the next 30 day validity will automatically begin once the existing one ends.
