With Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event now just around the corner, leaks about its upcoming foldables are coming in thick and fast. The latest one gives us what could be the clearest look yet at the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Freshly leaked renders have surfaced online, showing off the rumoured foldable from almost every angle and hinting at a design that looks quite different from previous generations.
If the leak is accurate, Samsung may finally be addressing one of the biggest complaints users have had with the Galaxy Z Fold series.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Could Finally Get a Wider Cover Display
The leaked renders, shared by Android Headlines, suggest Samsung might be saying goodbye to the tall and narrow design we all are fimiliar with and as seen on earlier Galaxy Z Fold models. Instead, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 appears shorter and noticeably wider.

That might sound like a small tweak on paper, but it could make a big difference in everyday use. A wider cover screen would be easier to type on, browse social media and use with one hand without constantly feeling cramped. Open it up, and the inner display is also expected to benefit from the new proportions, offering a more tablet-like experience for multitasking and entertainment.
Previous leaks have claimed the foldable could feature a 5.5 inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, while the inner screen may remain 7.6 inches but switch to a wider 4:3 aspect ratio.
Four Colour Options Could Be on the Way
The renders also give us a look at the colours Samsung may offer this year. According to the report, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be available in Cream, Graphite and Lavender. A fourth colour, Pistachio, is also expected, although it could be sold exclusively through Samsung's online store.
One Surprise on the Back
Another detail that stands out is the camera module. The renders appear to show only two rear cameras instead of the triple camera setup found on the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Whether Samsung has actually reduced the number of sensors or the renders simply do not show the complete camera hardware remains unclear. As with all leaks, this detail should be taken with a pinch of salt until the company makes it official.
Slimmer, Lighter and More Powerful
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is also tipped to become lighter than its predecessor. Recent reports suggest it could weigh around 200g or 201g, making it roughly 14g lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It is also expected to measure just 4.5mm when unfolded and 9.7mm when folded.
Under the hood, Samsung is rumoured to equip the foldable with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, alongside 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
Battery capacity could also see a welcome boost to 4,800mAh. However, charging speeds may remain unchanged at 25W.

Everything Will Be Official on July 22
Samsung has already confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 22 in London. The company is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
For now, these leaked renders offer the strongest indication yet that Samsung is focusing on refining the Galaxy Z Fold experience rather than completely reinventing it. If the wider design makes it to the final product, it could end up being one of the most meaningful upgrades in the series, even if it is not the flashiest one.
