Netflix Playground App Features: Netflix has dropped a new app and this one is for children who are eight years old and younger. This new app is kid friendly and provides an interactive space for kids building on popular shows and also gaming. The new app is being dubbed as Netflix Playground. The new app also boasts having no in app purchases and ads in it. Although currently the app is only available on iPhone and iPad and its global roll out is anticipated to take place soon later this month.

Playground App Launched

Available as a standalone app, Netflix Playground can be accessed by simply signing in with an existing Netflix account. It brings together a curated mix of games based on familiar titles like Peppa Pig and Sesame Street, with Netflix highlighting that everything loads instantly and can be played offline as well.

The app leans into simple, interactive experiences, including puzzles, memory challenges, colouring, and other light creative activities. Users can try out Playtime With Peppa Pig, explore Sesame Street mini-games featuring Elmo and Cookie Monster, or dive into adventures inspired by Dr Seuss. Netflix says that it has Launched this platform keeping in mind a merger of interactive entertainment for kids with learning and creativity.

Kids & Family TV, the animation series' Vice President John Derderian says that this is space where children can just go beyond consuming content but also interact with it, something like Dora the Explorer, that we had in our times, he expressed that the aim is to make “a seamless destination for discovery, learning, and play.” Netflix has said that the app is centered around its current parental control tools. These tools include individual profiles for kids, maturity filters, title level blocking and view history. This gives parents control over what their kids are doing and customise content as well.

This new app would stand as a competitor to the Apple Arcade, like Apple the Netflix Playground also provides ads free experience or in app purchases. Te only difference between the two is that in Netflix Playground the games come packaged with the video streaming subscription, meanwhile for Apple users have to buy a separate gaming pass, which is very typical of the Cupertino based tech giant.
