Xiaomi has not yet told us when the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will debut in China, but the company has already started teasing what is coming. Now, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max has appeared on Geekbench, giving us an early look at the processor, RAM and software expected on the upcoming flagship.

The phone listed on the benchmarking platform carries the model number M610BB. Earlier regulatory listings have linked this number to the Chinese version of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. In the Geekbench 7 for Android test, the device managed 3,381 points in the single-core test and 10,920 points in the multi-core test.

There is a reason to take these numbers with some caution, however. The phone tested by Geekbench may be a pre-production unit, so the scores do not necessarily reflect what the final retail model will deliver.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Could Be Among The First Phones With New Snapdragon Chip

The listing also gives us a possible look at the silicon Xiaomi has chosen for its next Pro Max model. Geekbench identifies the chipset as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, with the Qualcomm model number SM8950.

Qualcomm is expected to officially unveil this processor at the Snapdragon Summit later this month. The configuration seen in the listing includes three cores running at up to 3.74GHz, three reaching 4.03GHz and two high-performance cores clocked as high as 5.01GHz.

The test phone was running Android 17 and had 16GB of RAM. Xiaomi could offer other RAM and storage options when the phone goes on sale. On the software side, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is expected to use HyperOS 4.

A Second Screen Will Be One Of The Big Changes

The Xiaomi 18 Pro series will also bring back a feature that made the previous generation stand out: a screen on the rear of the phone. Xiaomi has teased the feature as the Versatile Back Screen, although it is expected to be more capable this time around.

The company says the rear display can be used for small apps, AI features and notifications, making it more than just a secondary panel for checking basic information. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is also expected to share much of its hardware with the Pro Max and has already appeared on Geekbench with the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip.

As for what Xiaomi is replacing, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max arrived last year with a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display and a 2.9-inch screen on the back. It also featured a Leica-tuned triple-camera system and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.

The previous Pro Max model further packed a 7,500mAh battery, with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi has not yet revealed the full specifications of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, so more details should emerge as the China launch gets closer.
