Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9, its Android 17-based software update, to Galaxy devices. The stable update is currently available for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Samsung first introduced One UI 9 with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in July, following several months of beta testing. The company has now begun expanding the stable release to other Galaxy devices, although a complete rollout schedule has not been shared yet.
Samsung One UI 9 Update: These Galaxy Devices Are Expected To Get It
Samsung has not published the full list of devices that will receive One UI 9. However, a footnote on the company's Privacy Alerts feature mentions a number of Galaxy phones and tablets that are expected to get the update.
The list includes the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 FE. Samsung's recent foldables are also mentioned, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
On the tablet side, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S11, Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S10+, Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S9 are listed.
This should not be taken as the final list of compatible devices. For example, the Galaxy S26+ is not mentioned in the footnote, even though Samsung has already confirmed that the phone is receiving the stable One UI 9 update.
What Is New In One UI 9?
Privacy and security are a major part of the update. One UI 9 introduces Privacy Alerts, which uses on-device AI to identify potential privacy risks, including attempts to access permissions that may not be necessary.
Samsung is also adding a Security Brief to Now Brief. It can show alerts related to malware, apps installed from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions. Scam Detection is being expanded as well, with support for additional countries and languages.
The camera gets a new feature called My FanCam. It can track a selected person or object while recording and automatically adjust the framing to keep the subject in view.
Samsung has made some changes to Now Brief too, adding Generative and Editable Cards. Users can also find warranty and care information for supported devices directly through Settings.
The Galaxy AI toolkit is getting a few additions, including Now Nudge, Creative Studio, Interpreter and Document Scan. Samsung has also introduced improvements to the Voice Recorder.
One UI 9 originally arrived with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. The update has now reached the Galaxy S26 series, with Samsung expected to expand the rollout to more Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the coming weeks.
