OnePlus has barely brought its OnePlus 15R and OnePlus Pad Go 2 to the Indian market, but rumours have already shifted their focus on what might be the next smartphone release in the OnePlus 15 series. The OnePlus 15s is rumoured to have an India launch, and it might not be long in coming.
OnePlus 15s India Launch Signals Appear
As per reports, the OnePlus 15s appears to have obtained BIS certification with the model name CPH2793. This is usually the last hurdle before the handset’s release in India, indicating that the OnePlus 15s could hit the Indian market in January itself.

This won't come as a surprise either. Last year, the OnePlus 13s lineup kicked off with a China launch under the name OnePlus 13T back in April, with the Indian market getting it in June. This smartphone represented OnePlus’ entry into the compact flagship segment, where it competed with offerings such as the Vivo X200 FE. This trend will repeat with the OnePlus 15s.
China Launch Likely Before India
According to leaks, the 15s series might debut in China initially before the offering hits the international markets, including India. Meanwhile, the company has recently confirmed the development of a new series dubbed Turbo in China, and the series is specifically geared toward gaming performance. This series might also land in the Indian market later.
Display and Performance Details Leaked
The OnePlus 15s is also rumoured to be coming with a 6.31-inch BOE X3 OLED screen, 1.5K resolution, and a 165 Hz refresh rate. This screen technology is comparable to that found in the OnePlus 15 and 15R but coupled with a smaller form factor.
The processor that may be used to power this device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 from Qualcomm, which is the same processor used in the OnePlus 15. It is clear that the new device does not lack in performance even though it is compact.
Battery Could Be The Biggest Talking Point
One of the most surprising leaks is regarding the battery capacity. The alleged specifications state that the OnePlus 15s comes with an enormous battery that measures 7,500 mAh. This is the largest battery that has ever been incorporated into any OnePlus device. Additionally, the device is expected to support 100W fast charging, though wireless charging is still expected to be absent.
Camera Setup And Build Features
In the imaging department, the phone is expected to boast a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor, in addition to a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto lens. Like its predecessor, the OnePlus 15s may forgo the ultra-wide lens.
Other expected specifications are the use of an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, a metal body, and a thickness of about 8.5 mm.
Software and Price Expectations
The OnePlus 15s launch is expected with the OxygenOS 16 operating system, which is based on Android 16 and comes with OnePlus’s newest AI capabilities and Plus Mind functionality by Gemini.

The pricing is also not clear. To give you an idea, the starting price for the OnePlus 13s in India was set at 54,999 rupees, and the pricier model might cost 59,999 rupees. The OnePlus 15s may see an increase in pricing because of the increase in component pricing or the shortage of memory chips. If these leaks are true, OnePlus seems ready to bet big on the compact flagship formula—not just with a small form factor, as they've done before, but with flagship performance, a huge battery, and less to sacrifice along the way.
