Realme is gearing up for its next big smartphone launch in India, and the Realme 16 Pro series is officially on the calendar. The lineup, which includes the Realme 16 Pro 5G and Realme 16 Pro+ 5G, will debut in the country on January 6, 2026, with sales set to follow shortly after.

The announcement comes close on the heels of Realme confirming its design collaboration with renowned Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, hinting that this launch is as much about aesthetics as it is about performance.

India Launch Details And Availability

Realme has confirmed that the Realme 16 Pro series will launch in India at 12 noon on January 6. Both models will be available through Flipkart as well as the Realme India online store, making them easily accessible right after the unveiling.

This also marks Realme’s continued focus on online-first launches, especially for its Pro lineup, which traditionally targets users looking for premium features without stepping into flagship pricing territory.

A Big Push On Camera Capabilities

One of the biggest talking points this time is imaging. Both the Realme 16 Pro 5G and Realme 16 Pro+ 5G will feature a 200-megapixel primary rear camera powered by Realme’s LumaColor Image system. The company is positioning the phones as “Portrait Master” devices, clearly aiming at users who care about photography and social media-ready shots.

The Pro+ model goes a step further. Realme has confirmed that it will include a periscope telephoto lens with up to 10x zoom, suggesting a serious upgrade over what the brand has offered in this segment before.

Snapdragon Power And AI Tools

Under the hood, the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G will run on a Snapdragon chipset that the company claims outperforms Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. While the exact processor name hasn’t been revealed yet, the claim alone sets expectations high for gaming, multitasking, and overall responsiveness.

Both phones will also ship with AI Edit Genie 2.0. This includes features like AI StyleMe and AI LightMe, designed to simplify photo editing and give users creative control without relying on third-party apps.

Design Inspired By Urban Nature

Design is another area where Realme is clearly investing attention. The Realme 16 Pro series introduces a new ‘Urban Wild’ design language, developed in collaboration with Naoto Fukasawa. The phones will feature a triple camera setup housed in a redesigned square-shaped camera module, paired with an LED flash.

In terms of colours, the series will launch in Master Gold and Master Gray, along with India-exclusive Camellia Pink and Orchid Purple options. Branding sits on the right side of the rear panel, while the power and volume buttons are placed along the right frame.

With a confirmed launch date, bold camera upgrades, and a clear design refresh, the Realme 16 Pro series looks set to be one of the brand’s most closely watched launches in early 2026.
