Oneplus India CEO steps down: OnePlus's Robin Liu has officially vacated his role as India CEO, the company confirmed. Reports claim that this move comes in response to the ongoing restructuring of the Chinese smartphone maker's business in international markets. An official statement by OnePlus states, "We thank Robin for his contributions to OnePlus India. He moves on to pursue his personal passions, and we wish him the very best for his future endeavours."

Further, the company also shared what its future roadmap in India looks like and said, “OnePlus India operations continue with local strategy and business continuity ensured." While the reason behind his resignation still remains under wraps, the smartphone maker expressed that he is willing to go forward with his "personal passions".

Reports suggest the executive was asked to move under the leadership of the company’s sister brand, a decision that is believed to have triggered Liu’s departure. This development comes just ahead of the expected India launch of the new OnePlus Nord 6 early next month.

Who Is Next

For now, the plan for deciding who sits on his seat next has not been revealed yet by the company, so who will take OnePlus' India CEO position is still unclear.

The update was first reported by The Economic Times, which, citing industry sources familiar with the situation, said Liu is currently serving his notice period at OnePlus, expected to conclude on March 31.

In a related move, Oppo has recently brought Realme back under its umbrella as part of a broader restructuring effort, after the brand had been operating independently since 2018.

Liu's Past

Robin Liu became a part of the company back in 2018 and served as global sales and supply chain director till June of 2020. In July 2020, Liu moved to Bengaluru and served as Head of India Sales for the company. His current role as India CEO began in July of 2024, and he served in this position for two years before leaving the role.
