ChatGPT maker OpenAI was recently in the news for its 'Spring Updates' event where it introduced GPT-4o, a new Mac app and a tweaked user interface. Continuing this series of announcements, the company is now introducing integration with Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive and more enhancements.
According to OpenAI, these improvements will be available in GPT-4o for Plus, Team and Enterprise customers in "the coming weeks". Building on its dataset understanding capabilities, ChatGPT analyses data via Python codes based on uploaded files.
ChatGPT can merge and clean large datasets, create charts, uncover insights, and more via data analysis, according to OpenAI. By allowing access to Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, users can directly add files of wide-ranging file types and understand documents, presentations, spreadsheets and more. The company also highlighted a few use cases of data analysis.
ChatGPT can make an interactive table from the dataset that you can expand to a full-screen view. Apart from the suggested prompts, you can click on a specific entry or row/column to ask questions as ChatGPT analyses the content for you. In presentations, users can interact and rework bar, pie, line, and plot charts.
You can "hover over chart elements, ask additional questions, or select colors", and download the output. Plus, users can make charts from data and combine spreadsheets among other things. Eligible customers can press the paperclip icon on the left of the message bar and choose "Connect to Google Drive" or "Connect to Microsoft OneDrive" and allow access to start using the features and uploading files.
As for data privacy, OpenAI said: "We don't train on data from ChatGPT Team and Enterprise customers, and ChatGPT Plus users can opt out of training through their Data Controls".
