Perplexity Launches AI Answer Compare: Perplexity User Channel: Perplexity has added a new AI feature, the Cognitive Qx, to provide more accurate and clearer insights for users. The new feature, which is called Model Council, lets users query three different AI models in parallel with a single query. The feature, which works by comparing answers and pointing out major takeaways, is supposed to help users get up to speed on complicated subjects or verify information without reading multiple full-fledged answers.
What Is Perplexity’s Model Council?
In a blog post, Perplexity described Model Council as an answer to an increasing problem in the AI chatbot world. As LLMS evolve to become more complex, the paths they take for their reasoning and outputs may be highly diverse. Pose the same complex question to tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, and you could get very different answers.

For those who are looking to learn or flesh out thoughts, sometimes reading through multiple responses can be a PIA. Model Council addresses this by providing users with samples from three AI models in a single query of Perplexity.
How Model Council Works
Once the queried AI models produce their independent responses, Perplexity’s pre-built synthesiser seeds put together answers in a table.
Key Features of Model Council
- Compares where models agree and disagree
- Highlights unique insights from each model
- Allows users to view each model’s full response separately
- Enables quick skimming of headline information
Perplexity claims that it is a feature that works best when you want to focus most on accuracy and perspective.

Availability and Use Cases
Model Council Only available to Perplexity Max subscribers. The company says typical use cases are investment research, complex decision-making, creative brainstorming and cross-validating information.
Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas wrote on X, “We're going to figure out ways to provide access to Council Mode to our Pro users too. There will be rate limits, of course, since it's expensive to run this, in which case it would make sense for Pro users to upgrade to Max in that case."
