Vivo has introduced the Vivo Y500 4G in select global markets, nearly a year after the Vivo Y500 5G made its debut in China. While the two phones share the same name, the new model is not simply a 4G version with the modem removed. Vivo has made a few noticeable changes, including a redesigned rear camera module and a slightly smaller battery.
The biggest visual difference is at the back. Unlike the Vivo Y500 5G, which features a circular camera island, the new model adopts a rectangular camera layout. It also packs an 8,100mAh battery instead of the 8,200mAh cell found on its 5G sibling, though the difference is unlikely to have much impact in day-to-day use.
The Vivo Y500 4G has gone on sale in Pakistan, where the 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at PKR 99,999 (roughly Rs. 34,000). Buyers looking for more storage can opt for the 8GB + 256GB version, which costs PKR 109,999 (around Rs. 38,000). It is available in Midnight Blue and Pearl White colour options through Vivo Pakistan's online store.
On the front, the smartphone sports a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Vivo says the panel can reach a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, supports the full DCI-P3 colour gamut and uses Q10+ luminescent material. The handset also carries an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, adding an extra layer of durability.
Powering the device is the 6nm Unisoc T7300 processor paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It is available with up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. To help manage heat during gaming or extended use, Vivo has equipped the phone with a vapour chamber cooling system that offers a 4,300sq mm heat dissipation area. The handset ships with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.
For photography, the Vivo Y500 4G features a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. It is accompanied by a 2-megapixel macro camera, while a 32-megapixel front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
The large 8,100mAh battery supports 44W wired fast charging. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and a USB Type-C port. The phone also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner along with the usual set of sensors such as a gyroscope, accelerometer, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor.
Measuring 163.73×76.18×8.19mm and weighing around 210g, the Vivo Y500 4G focuses on battery life and a large display while making a few design changes compared to its 5G counterpart.
