Hyderabad News: A 28-year-old man is in a critical condition after a hit-and-run incident in the Champapet area of Hyderabad. The accident took place under the limits of Saidabad Police Station, prompting a search for the unidentified driver.

The incident occurred when D Sunil was riding his motorcycle in Champapet. A speeding car allegedly hit his bike from behind with great force. Instead of stopping, the driver continued to move forward, dragging Sunil and his motorcycle along the road.

The India TV report cited Eyewitnesses as stating that, the victim was dragged for nearly 50 to 100 metres. The car then sped away from the scene, leaving Sunil severely injured on the road.

Locals Rush To Rescue

People nearby rushed to help after hearing the impact. They managed to pull Sunil away from the vehicle and immediately shifted him to a nearby hospital. Doctors treating him said he suffered serious injuries due to the collision and prolonged dragging. His condition remains critical, and efforts are ongoing to stabilise him.

Police Begin Investigation

Saidabad Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and registered a hit-and-run case. Officials said they are checking CCTV footage from nearby roads and intersections to identify the car involved. Statements from eyewitnesses are also being recorded.

Police teams are searching the area for clues. No arrests have been made so far. Authorities said the driver will be traced soon, and strict action will follow once identified.

In separate news, a 30-year-old man was allegedly killed by his stepbrother following an argument over a cigarette in the Nacharam area of Hyderabad on Thursday night, January 15. The victim, identified as Stafford Rohan Sayars, was on the third-floor terrace of his building, flying kites and drinking liquor with a friend. Around 9.30 pm, his stepbrother, Leonard Angelo Sayars, joined them. 

An argument reportedly broke out between the two over sharing cigarettes, which soon escalated. Police said Leonard allegedly pushed Rohan from the third floor. Rohan suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Based on a complaint filed by their mother, police arrested the accused and began an investigation.
