As former US president Donald Trump’s old picture with rapper Sean Combs “Diddy”, MAGA fans have now claimed that the rapper arrested on sexual trafficking charges is Vice President Kamala Harris’ best friend, citing her old tweets mentioning Diddy.
In a 2020 tweet, Kamala Harris expressed gratitude to Diddy for hosting a town hall on racial inequality during the Covid-19 pandemic, writing, "Thank you, @Diddy, for hosting this town hall last night."
Soon after Harris’ old tweet went viral, MAGA supporters started accusing Harris of supporting criminals.
Reacting to the post, one user wrote, “This is shocking that P. Diddy Hosted Kamala’s Town Hall. Then we wonder how 320 Thousand kids could go missing?”
Another wrote, “Kamala and Diddy were best friends.”
“Harris and P Diddy close enough that he hosted a town hall for her in 2020,” wrote another.
A photo claiming to show Kamala Harris standing next to Sean "Diddy" Combs has been circulating online following the rapper's indictment on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and other offences. However, the image is altered; the original, taken in 2001, featured the current Harris alongside talk show host Montel Williams, with whom she had a brief relationship.
Combs, 54, was arrested late Monday after being indicted by a grand jury. He now faces federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, according to a 14-page indictment made public on Tuesday.
His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, stated outside federal court in Manhattan that Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted on all charges, Combs could face a sentence ranging from 15 years to life in prison.
