Non-Veg Ban In Ayodhya: The Ayodhya administration has banned the delivery of non-vegetarian food within a 15-kilometre radius of the Ram Temple after complaints that ‘food delivery companies are supplying non-veg food in the periphery of Ayodhya town that is marked under 'paanch kosi parikrama' area'.
Some hotels and homestays in Ayodhya were reportedly serving non-vegetarian food and alcoholic drinks to guests, and authorities have issued a strict warning to establishments to refrain from such activities.
According to a report of PTI, despite the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation banning the sale of liquor and non-veg food along the 14-kilometre Rampath, the route connecting Ayodhya and Faizabad in May 2025, the restrictive measure has hardly been implemented, with several outlets selling alcohol on the stretch.
Responding to the current situation, the municipal officer said that they had removed the meat shops from the stretch, but they need the district administration's authorisation to evict the liquor shops and act against them.
Assistant Food Commissioner Manik Chandra Singh said that they had received complaints that food delivery platforms were serving non-veg food to tourists despite the ban.
