After several days of sunshine, dense fog descended on Saturday morning. Due to very low visibility, dozens of vehicles collided one after another near Nangli Gate on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Fortunately, no major incident occurred. All the vehicles were travelling from Meerut towards Muzaffarnagar.

Upon receiving the information, Daurala police arrived and stopped vehicles approaching from behind at the toll plaza, diverting them to the other side. The police used a crane to move the damaged vehicles to the side of the road. Three of the vehicles were en route to Khatauli Mandi; one was loaded with guavas and another with peas. The drivers sustained minor injuries.
