A Delhi Police ASI, while intoxicated, hit three vehicles with his car on Niwari Road at around 11 am on Saturday morning. Six people, including a young woman, were injured in the accident. After hitting the vehicles, the car crashed into the wall of a roadside drain. The police have taken the ASI into custody.
Sequence Of The High-Speed Collision
Sabbal and Mohd Aslam of Kidwainagar, Modinagar, are friends. The two had gone to Niwari Road by motorcycle on Saturday morning. They were standing near the fire station. Meanwhile, a speeding car approaching from behind forcefully struck their motorcycle. It then hit Kamran of Samargarden, Meerut, on another motorcycle. After that, it collided with an e-rickshaw travelling in front. The e-rickshaw contained the driver, Pawan from Niwari, along with a young man and a young woman. According to eyewitnesses, the car was speeding. The car was speeding.

Public Reaction And Hospitalisation
Sabbal, Mohd Aslam, Kamran, Pawan, and the young man and woman were injured in the accident. Hearing the screams, local people gathered at the scene. An atmosphere of chaos ensued. People pulled the ASI from the car and assaulted him. Police who arrived at the scene took the injured to hospital. The injured were rushed to hospital, from where Sabbal and Mohd Aslam were referred to Meerut, while the others are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Modinagar. Two people in a serious condition have been referred to a higher medical centre in Meerut. On receiving information, the police went to the hospital, gathered details about the injured and informed their relatives.

Details Of The Accused And Alcohol Findings
The accused ASI was in no condition to speak. The police managed to obtain some information from him. According to police, the ASI is Satendra Malik, originally from Muzaffarnagar. He is currently posted at the Police Lines in Model Town, Delhi. He was travelling from Gangnahar towards Modinagar via Niwari. The ASI had a companion in the car who fled the scene. An empty liquor bottle and a glass were found in the car. A medical examination confirmed the presence of alcohol.
FIR Registered And Legal Action
A case has been registered at the Modinagar police station following a complaint from the brother of one of the injured. Aamir, the brother of the injured Mohd. Aslam, has filed a complaint at the police station. ACP Modinagar stated that a case has been registered in the matter and the accused ASI has been taken into custody. The search for his companion is also underway. He will be apprehended soon.
