The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has initiated a major recovery drive to collect nearly Rs 240 crore from over 6,000 defaulters across all its zones. Officials said notices are being issued in the first phase, after which strict action will be taken against those who fail to clear their dues.

According to the authority, builders collectively owe Rs 114 crore, while allottees are yet to pay Rs 125 crore. After the notice period, zonal supervisors will conduct visits to the premises of defaulters to expedite recovery. In cases where amounts remain unpaid, the GDA may move towards cancelling allotments.

GDA Vice-Chairman Nand Kishore Kalal has instructed zonal in-charges to handle the matter with utmost seriousness. 

Additional Secretary Pradeep Kumar Singh said a comprehensive plan has been prepared to recover dues from all categories of defaulters. Officials added that once the pending amount is collected, several stalled projects of the authority will be able to resume.
