The Ghaziabad Development Authority is preparing a list of private developers who have not allocated EWS and LIG properties on time, so that action can be taken against them. GDA Vice-Chairman Nand Kishore Kalal has issued directives in this regard.
Following the directive, the way has been cleared for applications for a total of 2,986 EWS (Economically Weaker Section) properties under construction in the SGS City-1 and City-2 projects by private developer M/s SGS Construction & Developers Private Limited, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Applications for the properties are being invited from December 15 and will be accepted until 15 January.
The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) Vice-Chairman stated that interested and eligible applicants can apply within the stipulated time. Detailed information regarding the scheme, eligibility, conditions, application process, and other guidelines is available on the Ghaziabad Development Authority's website.
The GDA VC said that other private developers have also been given strict instructions for the construction and timely allocation of EWS and LIG (Lower Income Group) category properties under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. A committee, chaired by the Authority Secretary, has been formed to monitor this and is regularly reviewing the work being carried out by private developers.
Currently, the final price per property for the Economically Weaker Section has been set at Rs 4,98,000. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), this amount includes financial assistance of Rs 1,50,000 from the central government and Rs 1,00,000 from the state government.
After deducting the total subsidy of Rs 2,50,000, the allottee will only have to bear a cost of Rs 1, 98,000 per flat. This amount may be partially increased or decreased as per regulations, based on the actual cost of the project.
