To accurately determine locations of road accidents and improve road safety interventions, hospitals across Ghaziabad will now maintain detailed records of accident victims. Daily data will be collected from both government and private hospitals, and a consolidated report will be prepared to identify accident-prone areas.
Under the first phase, three major private hospitals have been brought into the reporting system: Yashoda Hospital in Nehru Nagar, Manipal Hospital on NH-9, and Max Hospital in Vaishali. The initiative aims to pinpoint where and how road accidents are occurring in the district.
The decision was taken at a recent meeting of the District Road Safety Committee, which resolved to reduce existing black spots and detect new ones. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) has issued strict directives to hospitals to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Earlier, accident data were being gathered only from facilities such as District MMG Hospital, Combined Hospital, CHC Loni, Combined Hospital Dundahera, CHC Dasna, Bamheta, Muradnagar, Modinagar, and CHC Bhojpur. However, discrepancies between police and health department figures, especially when critically injured persons were rushed directly to private hospitals, led to gaps in identifying accident sites.

CMO Dr Akhilesh Mohan has appointed Dr Pankaj as the nodal officer for coordination. Hospitals must now provide clear details of victims, ensure follow-ups for referred patients, and upload information daily on the designated portal.
Ambulances, as the first responders, will also contribute data to help detect and reduce black spots on district roads, officials added.
