The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has expedited the construction of the Road Over Bridge (ROB) and underpass connecting Hapur Road to Meerut Road under the Madhuban Bapudham scheme.

During a progress review, GDA Vice-Chairman Nand Kishore Kalal directed officials to complete the project within the next five months. This critical infrastructure project has been pending for the last eight years.

Current Status And Collaboration

The project has gained momentum through the joint efforts of the GDA, the Setu Nigam (Bridge Corporation), and the Railways.

Setu Nigam: Officials reported that the Bridge Corporation has completed the majority of its assigned work.

Railways: The remaining portion is being executed swiftly by the Railways, with assurances that the work will meet the new deadline.

Project Specifications

Length: Approximately 600 to 751 metres.

Capacity: The project includes a four-lane traffic system and an underpass.

Route: It will facilitate safe travel between Hapur Road and Meerut Road via the Madhuban Bapudham township.

Impact And Benefits

Once operational, the ROB is expected to significantly ease traffic and improve connectivity for the region.

Reduced Travel Distance: Commuters travelling from Hapur towards Meerut will no longer need to navigate through the congested HapurChungi area. This will eliminate an additional detour of approximately 14 kilometres.

Population Benefited: Daily travel will improve for over 500,000 residents living in MadhubanBapudham, Govindpuram, Swarna Jayanti Puram, and surrounding areas.

Economic And Environmental Impact: The direct route will lead to substantial savings in time and fuel, while also reducing overall traffic congestion in the city.
