The Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation Ltd is nearing completion of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of a new bridge over the Harnandi river between Siddharth Vihar and Vasundhara, aimed at reducing traffic congestion on NH-9.

The DPR is expected to be submitted to the government for approval soon, with clearance anticipated within the current financial year. Currently, residents of Siddharth Vihar and Pratap Vihar must travel via NH-9 to reach Delhi, often facing heavy traffic near Chhijarsi and Noida Sector 62.

To address this, the city MLA proposed a new four-lane bridge over the Harnandi River earlier this year. The bridge will be constructed near the existing structure, which struggles to handle the current traffic load.

Project Manager Rajnish Yadav stated that the bridge will span 210 metres and is estimated to cost around Rs 60 crore. In addition, an entry and exit point for Delhi will be constructed on the elevated road in Vasundhara.

Once completed, commuters from Siddharth Vihar and Pratap Vihar will be able to access Vasundhara via the bridge and continue to Delhi using the elevated road, significantly easing congestion on NH-9.
