Following the Diwali fireworks, pollution in the city has become uncontrolled, leading to a sudden increase in the city's temperature and bringing back a summer-like feeling.
The rise in both maximum and minimum temperatures—with the maximum once again touching 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 22 degrees Celsius—has increased humidity throughout the day and night. This heat, exacerbated by the pollution, has begun to cause discomfort to the public.
Meteorologist Kailash Pandey attributes this post-Diwali weather change to the suspension of aerosols in the upper atmosphere, at an altitude between 8 and 10 kilometres. He explained that due to these suspended aerosols, the sun's rays are struggling to reach the ground. The rays that do get through are then trapped by high atmospheric pressure. This, combined with moisture, is increasing the humidity, which has been recorded between 74 and 84 per cent.

According to the meteorologist, the aerosols will disperse as wind speed increases, and the temperature will begin to fall again. For now, over the next two to three days, the maximum temperature is expected to be recorded at around 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum at around 21 degrees Celsius.
