Panic gripped the Cooperative Inter College in Pipraich on Friday afternoon after a class 11 student was shot dead in a broad daylight attack on the school's sports ground. The victim, identified as Sudhir Bharti, a local resident, died at the scene.
The Incident
The shooting occurred around 1:00 pm. According to eyewitnesses, Sudhir was on the sports ground teaching some local boys how to ride a motorcycle.
The Attack: Four youths from the same locality arrived at the scene. Allegedly acting on a pre-existing dispute, they pulled out a pistol and opened fire.
Fatal Injury: A bullet struck Sudhir directly, causing him to collapse in a pool of blood. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Panic And Stampede
The sound of gunfire triggered immediate chaos across the campus. A stampede-like situation developed on the sports ground and within the school premises as terrified students ran out of their classrooms. In response to the security threat, the school administration immediately closed the institution.
Police Action And Investigation
Upon receiving the information, Pipraich police rushed to the scene and took custody of the body. A heavy police force has been deployed at the site to maintain order.
Manhunt Launched: Police confirmed that the accused shooters are residents of the same locality and have been absconding since the incident.
Raids: Multiple police teams have been formed to track down the suspects, and continuous raids are being conducted at their possible hideouts.
Meanwhile, the victim's family and angry local residents have gathered, demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.
