Preparations to develop Vinod Van, located in the Kushmi forest adjacent to the city, as an eco-tourism site have intensified. The Forest Department's proposal has been approved. Here, tourists will find adventure, yoga and information about medicinal plants all in one place, amid nature. A proposal of Rs 500 crore has been prepared and sent to the Tourism Department. Work will begin after receiving permission from the government.
Adventure Sports And Bamboo-Based Infrastructure
Special arrangements will be made for adventure sports. As part of this, a pathway made of bamboo and ropes will be created to go from one tree to another, allowing tourists to enjoy the thrill of climbing at a height. Most of the structures built on the eco-tourism premises will be made of bamboo, to give tourists a natural, forest-like experience. Everything from the gate to the yoga centre, restaurant and symbolic enclosure, among other things, will be made of bamboo.
Accommodation And Fitness Facilities
Bamboo shelters will be built for tourists to stay in. Additionally, there will be arrangements for tented accommodation. Shelters will be built for tourists to stay in. Yoga Centres And Tourism Amenities
Following the model of Ayodhya, two yoga centres will be built here, where 40 people can practise yoga simultaneously in each. Furthermore, the construction of a symbolic enclosure, a restaurant, a ticket office and a rest house for tourists is proposed.
Butterfly Park And Wildlife Attractions
Under the project, a butterfly park will also be developed in a one-acre area. Special plants that attract butterflies will be planted here, so that various species of butterflies can come. Currently, there is a small butterfly house in the zoo, but it will be expanded in Vinod Van. Additionally, models of wildlife will be installed in bamboo enclosures, which will be a centre of attraction for children and tourists.
Nature Trails And Forest Experience
It is noteworthy that in Kushmi forest, along with the Budhiya Mai temple, there is Vinod Van, a Forest Department guest house and a dense forest. Previously, devotees visiting the temple also used to come here to see deer and pythons, but it was closed to visitors from February 16 2023. The Forest Department had prepared and sent a proposal to the Tourism Department to reopen it to the public from March 2025 and develop it as an eco-tourism site. This has now reached the government. Work on it will also begin soon. Here, tourists will be able to undertake a nature trail on a three to six-kilometre-long route, either by bicycle or on foot, with safety equipment.

Ayush Van Developed On Eight Hectares
The Forest Department had started preparations for this two years ago. It has developed an Ayush Van on eight hectares, where many medicinal and fruit-bearing plants, including amla, neem, tulsi, arjun, and jamun, have been planted, which have now grown to 15 to 20 feet. Next to this is the department's nursery. After the proposal is passed, a path will be made to reach the Ayush Van and the nursery, so that tourists can closely understand the process of preparing medicinal plants and saplings.
Model Park Of State And National Emblems
A model park will also be built in Vinod Van. Here, state emblems will also be displayed as models, so that foreign tourists visiting here can learn about the country's state emblems. A model of each of these emblems will be displayed along with detailed information about it. For example, what the state bird, animal, symbol and sport of Uttar Pradesh are. Following this, models and information will be provided about India's national emblem, how many heritage trees are in the state, how many tourist sites are in the district and more.
