A CRPF jawan and his wife allegedly kept a 10-year-old girl as a domestic help and physically abused her for a long period, leaving her on a ventilator and fighting for her life in Greater Noida.
The girl is a relative of CRPF jawan Tariq Anwar's wife Rimpa Khatoon. According to a report by News18, citing sources, the CRPF has suspended the officer and both the accuse have been arrested.
According to the complaint, the couple kept the minor girl as domestic help without following due procedure and informing the department.
The FIR has been registered against the couple at Ecotech III police station. They have been booked under Section 110 of the BNS.
The report cited a press release by police saying that the accused started harassing the victim on minor issues and assaulted her on the intervening night of Jan 14 and 15.
"It is alleged that the accused began harassing and physically assaulting the victim over minor issues. On the intervening night of January 14 and 15, the accused assaulted the victim, due to which she is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital," the police stated.
Meanwhile, allegations of starvation have also surfaced as the report cited officials aware of the developments, who said the child allegedly kept as illegal domestic help and starved for a prolonged period. The condition of the girl became so vulnerable that her haemoglobin dropped to 1.9 gm/dL against normal 12-15 gm/dL.

Her medical report revealed that she suffered multiple injuries on her neck, face and body. She has a black eye, with entire body swelled.
The medical report accessed by the aforementioned report stated that she was brought in unconscious condition to the Emergency.
