If you are planning to head home or go on a trip for Holi and haven't booked your train tickets yet, you might have to reconsider your plans. Reservations for the months surrounding the festival are becoming nearly impossible to secure, with both AC and Sleeper coaches already reaching full capacity. With Holi falling on March 4, seats across almost all major routes are completely booked.
Travel Crisis For Devotees And Migrants
A large number of devotees traditionally travel to seek the blessings of Maa Vaishno Devi during this season. However, if you haven't booked your tickets yet, traveling by train is no longer a viable option as seats are exhausted. In several districts, most trains passing through have no availability until April 7.
The crisis isn't limited to luxury travel; while AC coaches have long waiting lists, even Sleeper coaches are packed. This situation is creating significant hurdles for people living in Delhi, Ludhiana, Punjab, Amritsar and other regions who are trying to return to their native villages for the festivities.

Passenger Grievances
Local passengers have expressed their frustration over the lack of availability:
Kamal Kumar, a passenger, shared that he tried to book a ticket to Howrah but was forced to settle for a waiting list ticket due to the heavy rush.
Other travelers, including Kamlesh Kumar, Rajkumar, Dashrath Lal And Sonu, emphasised the urgent need for the Railway Administration to run "Holi Special Trains." They noted that despite the high demand, authorities have yet to address the situation effectively.
Current Status Of Popular Trains
