The onset of fog and cold has affected the movement of Transport Corporation buses. According to Regional Manager RK Tripathi, more than 50 buses were cancelled in the Lucknow region on Wednesday due to severe fog.
Meanwhile, instructions have been issued to only dispatch night service buses to their destinations if there are at least 25 passengers. Due to the cold, people were seen shivering at bus stations from morning until evening, with crowds of passengers seen near bonfires (alav) in some places. The night shelters (rain baseras) at all bus stations are, however, bustling.

All Assistant Regional Managers have been instructed not to dispatch empty buses. At night, a bus should only be dispatched for any route when there are at least 25 passengers. This will reduce accidents and also ensure safer traffic.
