The Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad has intensified its agitation regarding the persecution and murder of Hindus in Bangladesh. During a protest in Lucknow on Wednesday, the Council announced the formation of the Bangladesh Hindu Liberation Force (Bangladesh Hindu Mukti Vahini) and burned an effigy of Bangladesh's President, Mohammad Shahabuddin.
Formation Of The Liberation Force
Gopal Rai, the International President of the World Hindu Defence Council, announced the new initiative against the backdrop of growing violence, fear and insecurity faced by the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
Historical Context: Rai drew a parallel to the 1971 liberation war, recalling how the original Bangladesh Mukti Vahini was formed with India's support and played a pivotal role in the country's independence.
Objective: Based on this historical memory, the new force has been established with the Council's support to secure the safety and liberation of Hindus currently under threat.
Condemnation Of Global Inaction
Expressing deep concern over the massacres, Rai criticised the international community for being limited to mere rhetoric and appearing inactive in taking effective measures. He asserted that the organisation would vociferously raise the issue at an international level to ensure that the murders of Hindus, including victims like Dipu Das, do not go in vain.

Demands To The Government Of India
The Council has put forth several specific demands to the Indian government and the international community:
Permission to Operate: Rai demanded that the Government of India grant the necessary permission to the Bangladesh Hindu Liberation Force to operate, allowing it to fulfill its objective of protecting the rights and safety of Hindus residing in Bangladesh.
Economic Sanctions: He urged the Indian government to immediately cease all economic aid being provided to Bangladesh.
Global Pressure: The Council also demanded that other nations impose immediate economic sanctions on Bangladesh to curb the violence.
