Magh Mela 2026: The 44-day-long holy Magh Mela, a major annual Hindu pilgrimage, held at the sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, begins today. The pilgrimage, which is scheduled from January 3 to February 15, takes place at the holy junction of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj.
As the pilgrimage has begun today and will continue for the duration of 44 days, here’s the bathing schedule and traffic advisory regarding the Mela.
When Will Snan Take Place During Magh Mela
The key practice during the pilgrimage is the holy bath, which can be observed any day during the 44 days; however, there are also specific dates and occasions considered more significant. Specific dates, which are considered more auspicious and holy for dip (Snan) in the holy Ganga during the period, attract an influx of crowds.
Taking a holy dip on occasions like Paush Purnima, Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, Vasant Panchami, Maghi Purnima, and Maha Shivratri is considered more significant.
