Five youths, who had entered a medicine trader's house to retrieve a slipper, burgled the home of cash and valuables worth Rs 25 lakh after finding it empty. Using CCTV footage, the police arrested all five accused and recovered the entire stash of stolen goods. Following interrogation, the police have sent the five accused to jail under judicial custody.

During a press conference at the Police Line auditorium, SP City Ayush Vikram Singh stated that on Saturday, a theft occurred at the house of Khurram Manzar, a medicine trader residing near Baniyapara Fateh Masjid in the Kotwali police station area. Jewelry and cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh, totaling Rs 25 lakh in stolen value, were taken. At the time of the incident, the trader and his family had gone to his sister's place at Baghpat Gate to attend a wedding ceremony. Based on the trader's complaint, the police had registered a case against unknown persons.

Solving the case, the local police and surveillance team arrested the trader's neighbor Nazim, along with Faizan and Hamdan (residents of Mohalla Padiyan), Salim (resident of GBI Park, Brahmpuri police station), and Azhar alias Ajju (resident of Mahajan Pada).

During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were flying kites on the roof of Nazim's house. During this time, Ajju's slipper fell through a broken grille onto the medicine trader's property. To retrieve the slipper, the five youths removed the grille and entered the house. Upon realising that no one was home, Ajju hatched a plan to commit the theft.

The accused stole five pairs of earrings, four wristwatches, three necklaces, two pendants, a pair of bangles, a ring, a bracelet, a chain, a tikka, and Rs 1,300 in cash from the cupboard. The police arrested the five suspects from Khatta Road on Monday night. The stolen goods, along with a country-made pistol and cartridges, were recovered from their possession.
