The Transport Corporation has launched a trial service of two air-conditioned e-buses, connecting Mohannagar and Mathura. The fare for the full journey to Mathura has been set at Rs 352. Officials have emphasised that the continuation of this service is dependent on the successful and issue-free operation of the charging facilities.

This new service utilises a small portion of the 37 e-buses the corporation has received. The deployment of the entire fleet has been delayed because the necessary charging stations have not yet been built. Currently, the operation relies on a single charging point available at the Noida depot, and the launch of these two buses was initiated after discussions with officials there.

According to the schedule, the first bus departs for Mathura at 3:00 pm and the second follows at 6:00 pm For the return trip, the first bus will leave Mathura for Noida at 9:00 am, and the second will depart at 10:00 am The route features a total of nine stops, and the corporation is optimistic about attracting a good number of passengers.

Meanwhile, meetings are being held to plan for the operation of the remaining buses. Officials claim that services to two or three more cities will be launched soon.

Rajesh Kumar, the Assistant Regional Manager at the Sahibabad Depot, stated, "There is one charging point at the Noida bus depot. The e-buses will be charged from there. If no problems arise, the service will continue."
