The UP government focuses on enhancing smart education by upgrading digital infrastructure in council primary and upper primary schools. A tablet has been distributed to each of the 2.09 lakh schools, and over 18,000 schools have implemented smart classrooms.
By promoting digital learning, government schools are now offering education comparable to private institutions. Students are being taught complex subjects in an engaging manner through audio-visual aids.
Additionally, an Information-Communication Technology (ICT) lab has been set up in every block of the state, providing computer education to students in council upper primary schools. Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge), Sandeep Singh, highlighted that, with the support of Operation Kayakalp, basic facilities in schools have been improved, alongside the rapid expansion of digital infrastructure.
The tablets distributed to teachers come with internet access, and all 12 registers, including school attendance, are being digitised. Online information is being sent to the Basic Education Department, and study materials are also made available online.
The foundation for digital education has been laid through the Navbharat Uday program. From 2022 to 2024, Sitapur saw the installation of 59 smart TVs and five computer labs. Going forward, smart TVs will be distributed to 501 primary schools, further emphasising the goal of making learning more engaging for students.
