Noida Authority CEO: The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed a new Noida Authority CEO, Krishna Karunesh, a 2011-batch IAS officer, after the predecessor was sacked. In a major action against administrative negligence following the death of a Noida techie in an accident, Noida Authority CEO M Lokesh was removed.

SIT Summon Delivery Boy Who Tried Saving Techie

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the death of Noida engineer Yuvaraj reached the Noida Authority office on Saturday to record statements of eyewitnesses in the case.

Among those called in for questioning is delivery boy Munendra, who was present at the spot when Yuvaraj drowned in the waterlogged pit. Munendra has been specifically summoned to the authority office to give his statement to the SIT.

Who Is New CEO Krishna Karunesh

Karunesh was previously serving as District Magistrate of Gorakhpur. Originally from Bihar, he has held several key positions in the state administration. He previously served as Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Ghaziabad, Vice-Chairman of the Ghaziabad Development Authority, and District Magistrate of both Hapur and Balrampur districts.

Noida Authority CEO M Lokesh Sacked

M Lokesh had taken charge as CEO of the Noida Authority in July 2023. The decision to remove him came a day after local residents staged a protest march demanding accountability for the incident.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took suo motu cognisance of the death of car-borne engineer Yuvaraj, who drowned in an open, water-filled pit last Sunday. The CM directed an immediate probe into the matter.

Yuvraj Mehta Death Case

A 27-year-old software engineer, Yuvraj Mehta, met with a tragic accident while returning to his home on January 17 in Noida's Sector 150 amid dense fog. While he was on his way, his car plunged into 70 fit deep water-filled pit at an underconstruction site.

Techie, who worked with a Gurugram-based company, struggled for his life and dialled his father for help and succumbed to the accident later.
