A severe waterlogging problem has arisen in Raebareli Road New Defence Colony due to the negligence of the Municipal Corporation. The colony's roads are now submerged even without rain, causing significant hardship for local residents.
Blocked Drains Causing Overflow
Local resident Triloki Singh stated that while the colony previously had no drain, the problem has worsened since one was recently constructed. It is alleged that the Municipal Corporation is not cleaning the drain regularly, which has left it completely blocked with stones, soil and filth. Water from the drain has begun to overflow, flooding the roads and the areas in front of houses. This is obstructing the movement of both passers-by and colony residents.
Health Risks And Residents' Demands
It is feared that the waterlogging will lead to a proliferation of mosquitoes, posing a risk of infectious diseases. The local people have demanded that the Municipal Corporation immediately clean the drain and provide a permanent solution.
