Meerut News: As the new year begins, Meerut is poised for significant development in 2025. The government is set to implement over 25 schemes aimed at enhancing the city’s infrastructure and connectivity, particularly improving travel between Meerut and Delhi.

A key development expected in June is the launch of the rapid train service connecting Meerut to Namo Bharat Modipuram, making the city a hub for both high-speed trains and metro services. This will significantly ease travel between Meerut and Delhi, offering residents faster and more convenient commuting options.

Meerut: Dhyanchand Sports University

In addition to transportation improvements, the construction of the state’s first Major Dhyanchand Sports University is expected to be completed this year. This landmark project will provide state-of-the-art facilities for aspiring athletes. Alongside this, efforts to address traffic congestion in the city will be initiated through a dedicated traffic project.

Ganga Expressway Between Meerut And Prayagraj

Another major infrastructure project, the Ganga Expressway, is slated to begin between Meerut and Prayagraj in 2025. This expressway will connect Baghpat Road through Jain Nagar from Railway Road, further enhancing connectivity in the region.

Meerut Mandapam

To enrich the cultural landscape, Meerut Mandapam will be constructed, inspired by Bharat Mandapam. This venue will host exhibitions, fairs and conferences, serving as a hub for community engagement.

MEDA To Establish And Transform Parks

The Meerut Development Authority (MEDA) is also taking significant steps to honour local heroes by establishing Krantidhara Park in the Vedvyaspuri housing scheme. Furthermore, the Miyawaki Park in the same area will be transformed into City Forest Park, providing residents with a green space for leisure and relaxation.

Meerut Township Project

The first phase of an integrated township project is expected to be completed this year, covering 600 hectares. Additionally, a synthetic track will be built in the local stadium at a cost of Rs 28 lakh, ensuring athletes have access to modern facilities.

Meerut: New Lab and Research Centre to Foster Innovation at University

Research and innovation will also receive a boost with the establishment of a new lab at the university, where scientists will work on various research projects. Moreover, modern treatment options will be available at the new Critical Care Centre, alongside the construction of a new trauma centre to enhance medical services in the region.

Meerut: New Bus Stand And Improved Medical Services

Plans are underway to build a new bus stand in the city, which has already received approval from ISBT. This facility aims to improve public transport options for residents. Furthermore, an MRI unit is set to be inaugurated in the district hospital this year, enhancing diagnostic capabilities.

Meerut: Major Dhyanchand Sports University Construction Progressing in Salawa

The construction of the Major Dhyanchand Sports University in Salawa is progressing, with an investment of Rs 700 crore. It is anticipated that the construction will be completed in 2025, followed by the development of sports grounds. The university has appointed a Vice Chancellor, with the Additional Commissioner overseeing the role of Registrar.

Meerut: Rs 300 Crore Funded Traffic Management Project To Address Congestion

In a move to address traffic issues, MEDA has allocated Rs 300 crore to create a jam-free environment in the city. This funding will support the development of a multi-level parking facility, capable of accommodating 250 vehicles, at a cost of approximately Rs 11 crore. The parking structure will replace the old Municipal Corporation building, demonstrating a commitment to modernising the city’s infrastructure.

With these comprehensive plans and projects, Meerut is set to undergo a remarkable transformation in 2025, promising a brighter future for its residents.
