Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a major hub for youth skill development and vocational training. The state government's 'Learn and Earn' policy has connected young people with practical experience in industrial units and the MSME sector, moving beyond theoretical knowledge.

So far during 2025-26, more than 83,277 young people have been provided with apprenticeship training opportunities in various manufacturing and service units. This initiative is not only making the youth self-reliant but also providing industries with a skilled workforce tailored to their needs.

The state's Minister for Vocational Education and Skill Development, Kapildev Agarwal, stated that the government's goal is not merely to distribute certificates but to directly connect young people with industrial institutions. Through the National and Chief Minister Apprenticeship Promotion Schemes (CMAPS), apprentices are receiving financial support, and industries are benefiting from reimbursements.

As a result of this robust strategy over the past nine years, more than 4,00,000 young apprentices have had the opportunity for training and employment in various industrial establishments. The Yogi government has significantly simplified and made processes transparent to expand the scope of apprenticeships.

New registrations: In the last four years, 795 new industrial establishments have been registered on the portal, leading to a significant increase in local training opportunities.

Benefits of CMAPS: Under this scheme, 6,164 new candidates have benefited, connecting them directly with industrial experience.

Financial incentive: The reimbursement facility provided by the government has increased the interest of MSMEs and large industries in taking on apprentices, thereby multiplying employment prospects.

The department has strengthened the online portal, simplifying coordination between industries and candidates. The government believes that skilled youth will not only strengthen the state's investment climate but also play a crucial role in making Uttar Pradesh a one-trillion-dollar economy.
