UP Sets Dates For Kharif 2025-26 Paddy Procurement; Over 23,500 Farmers Registered

Paddy procurement for the Kharif marketing year 2025–26 will begin on October 1 in western Uttar Pradesh and in the districts of Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sitapur under the Lucknow division. To ensure transparency and prevent middlemen, procurement will be carried out through biometric verification using e-PoP (Electronic Point of Purchase) devices.

Paddy procurement for the Kharif marketing year 2025–26 will begin on October 1 in western Uttar Pradesh and in the districts of Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sitapur under the Lucknow division. In eastern Uttar Pradesh, and in Lucknow, Raebareli, and Unnao districts, procurement will start on November 1.

Procurement in western UP will continue till January 31, 2026, while in eastern UP it will run till 28 February 2026. More than 23,500 farmers have registered for the sale of paddy.

The government has revised the Minimum Support Price (MSP) this year, fixing it at Rs 2,369 per quintal for Common grade and Rs 2,389 for Grade A. Farmers will receive payments directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts within 48 hours of procurement.

Procurement centres will function from 9 am to 5 pm, and only registered farmers will be eligible to sell. Registration can be completed through the Food and Logistics Department’s website (fcs.up.gov.in) or via the UP Kisan Mitra mobile app using an OTP-based system.

To ensure transparency and prevent middlemen, procurement will be carried out through biometric verification using e-PoP (Electronic Point of Purchase) devices.
