UP SIR: Election Commission Revises Schedule For Electoral Roll Publication; Final List To Be Released On March 6

The Election Commission has revised the schedule for the special intensive revision campaign in Uttar Pradesh. The final electoral roll will now be published on March 6 instead of February 28. Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa stated that the draft publication will be on January 6, after which claims and objections will be received until February 6. Once all procedures are complete, the final list will be released on March 6.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday announced a revised schedule for the publication of the electoral roll under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign in the state. According to the new timeline, the final electoral roll will now be published on March 6, delaying the previous date of February 28.

Revised Key Dates

Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa provided the details of the updated schedule:

Draft Publication: The draft electoral roll will be published on January 6, moved from the earlier date of December 31.

Claims And Objections: The window for filing claims and objections will be open from January 6 to February 6.

Notice Phase And Resolution: The notice phase is scheduled from January 6 to February 27. During this period, decisions on enumeration forms will be taken, and all claims and objections will be resolved.

Final Publication: After the completion of all procedural requirements, the final electoral roll for the state will be released on March 6.

This extension provides additional time for the verification process to ensure an accurate and comprehensive voter list.
