Several parts of Uttar Pradesh have been witnessing pre-monsoon showers for the last few days. A cyclonic wind area is formed at an altitude of 5000 feet in the upper atmosphere of the western part of UP, which has created the possibility of light rains.

This may be the last rain before the arrival of the monsoon, as the weather department has forecasted the arrival of the monsoon till June 10. As per meteorologist Kailash Pandey, the monsoon has reached Puri in Odisha. It is likely to arrive in Gorakhpur between June 10 and 12.

When there is 2.5 mm of rainfall per day for three consecutive days, then it will be termed as monsoon rain, as per the standard of the Meteorological Department.

Meteorologists have predicted more than average monsoon rains in UP this time. There is a possibility of relief from the heat in the coming days. On Tuesday, due to cloudy weather and continuous winds, a drop in maximum temperature was recorded as compared to the previous day in Gorakhpur.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 37.2 degrees Celsius, which gave people some relief from the heat. However, the minimum temperature did not decrease, so humidity remained high at night. The minimum temperature was 28.3 degrees Celsius.
