UPPCL Ends Paperwork For Complaints; New Bill Relief Scheme To Launch Dec 1
Solutions for all problems are available on the customer care toll-free number 1912.

The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) has announced a major shift towards digitization by eliminating paperwork for electricity-related complaints. Under the new paperless system, consumers can now resolve their issues simply by calling the customer care toll-free number 1912.

However, the corporation clarified that the existing documentation system will remain in place for specific services, including new connections, name changes, and permanent disconnections (PD).

Chairman Reviews Departmental Work

During a departmental review meeting on Saturday, UPPCL Chairman Dr Ashish Kumar Goel issued strict directives to officials. He emphasised that negligence in duty will not be tolerated and instructed that all transferred officers must immediately assume their duties at their new posts to ensure departmental work is not affected.

Key Directives and Evaluations:

Bill Relief Scheme: The Chairman announced that the performance of Superintending Engineers (SEs) will be evaluated based on the progress of the electricity bill relief scheme, which is set to launch on December 1.

Strategic Appointments: Capable officers have been assigned to challenging locations and appointed as district in-charges.

Vertical System Success: Dr Goel congratulated the staff on the successful implementation of the vertical system in restructured districts, including Lucknow. He acknowledged that while new systems face initial difficulties and may impact certain personal interests, the initiative has ultimately been successful.

Vision For Consumer Service

Dr Goel stressed the need to create an ecosystem where consumers face zero electricity-related issues. He urged Managing Directors to play an effective role in achieving this goal.

Disciplinary Action: Adverse Entries Ordered taking a strict stance on performance and accountability, the Chairman ordered adverse entries for three senior officials during the meeting:

Executive Engineer (Jhinjhak) And Superintending Engineer (Hapur): Both received adverse entries for failing to provide requested information and attending the review meeting unprepared.
